Bosnia and Herzegovina will appoint the new Chief Prosecutor

The High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina will appoint the Chief Prosecutor of Bosnia and Herzegovina today. Alongside the appointment of the Chief Prosecutor, the Council should appoint prosecutors to the Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the entity Prosecution and the Prosecution of Brčko District.

For the position of the Chief Prosecutor, instead of the former Chief Prosecutor Milorad Barašin, arrived twelve applications. Out of these twelve applicants for the Chief Prosecutor, the best rank has the Deputy Chief Prosecutor and the Chief of the Department for organized and economic crime and corruption, Božo Mihajlović, and the President of the Municipality Court of Sarajevo Goran Salihović and the Chief Prosecutor of Brčko District Zekerija Mujkanović. Besides these applicants, the majority of the prosecutors of the Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina have also applied for this position.

However, there is no confirmation of the names of the applicants for the position of the Chief Prosecutor because of the principles and rules of the Agency for the Protection of Personal Data.
