The meeting on the initiative of BADS was made possible by Maja Mihelic Debeljak, director of the Office for Development and Quality in Education at this ministry.

Ales Ojstrsek, head of the Sector for Education, and Bronka Straus, in charge of language education in the Sector, showed their affection for the idea presented by prof. dr. Adriana Kuci presented the goals of BADS, which began its work in March this year, emphasizing that preserving identity through literary language, as one of the basic walls of people’s culture, is among the primary tasks of academic citizens of Bosnian origin.

It was agreed that, with mutual efforts, invested time, knowledge and material resources, both BADS as the initiator and the Sector for Development of Education of the relevant ministry, the conditions for the introduction of additional classes in Bosnian language will be realized by the beginning of next school year (2022 ./2023.), And at the same time work will be done on preparations for the long-term acquisition of the status of a compulsory elective subject for the Bosnian language.

Supplementary classes, which should start in September in certain Slovenian primary schools, will be intended primarily for students of higher grades of Bosnian origin who have contact with the language of their ancestors through the rhythm of their families’ lives, but classroom doors will be open to all students language, which is already present in the schools of some European countries, such as Switzerland and Austria, Klix.ba writes.
