16237894_1895640274005981_869248661_n (1)FC Diamant Linz is the new champion of Austria in futsal.

FC Diamant secured the Bundesliga title in the round before the end of the championship with the victory over Wiener Neustadt Fortuna with the score 5: 3. Before the last round which is scheduled for the weekend, the club from Linz has four points more than the second-ranked team FC Murexin Allstars.

What is interesting is that this fresh champion of Austria mainly consists of players from BiH. A success is even more significant when we consider that this is the first season for FC Diamant in the elite ranks of the Austrian futsal.

“The club was founded 15 years ago purely for socializing. Initially, the team played in tournaments, and then we got the idea of joining the Bundesliga. The club is financed by sponsors and members. They are the most responsible for this success,” said young Saldin Pezic.

“I started playing for FC Diamant two years ago. I played only tournaments at first. When the club came in the Bundesliga, I started recording the first official appearances,” said Pezic.

Most of the members in FC Diamond come from the Una-Sana Canton and Tuzla Canton. Their coach is Elmir Omeragic, who is also the player. The best scorer of the team is Edvin Skrgic who scored a total of 22 goals.
