Bread Production Resumes In Gaza After 81-day Israeli Blockade

The World Food Programme (WFP) bakery is preparing loaves of bread for the residents of Gaza after receiving the first limited quantities of flour following an almost three-month Israeli blockade.

Yesterday, workers were packing loaves of bread for distribution at the WFP bakery in Deir al-Balah after a limited quantity of flour entered the Gaza Strip.

Since March 2nd, Israel has blocked all border crossings for the entry of humanitarian aid into the war-torn Gaza Strip, further deepening the humanitarian catastrophe in the besieged Palestinian enclave.

Despite international calls for a ceasefire, the Israeli military has been conducting a brutal offensive on Gaza since October 2023, during which nearly 53.700 Palestinians have been killed, mostly women and children.

The International Criminal Court (ICC) has issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Israel is also facing a genocide lawsuit before the International Court of Justice (ICJ), AA writes.
