Brnabic: The Opposition wants a Civil War

The Speaker of the National Assembly, Ana Brnabić, stated today that the opposition representatives who caused a riot in the National Assembly yesterday want a civil war, and that the ruling coalition, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić and Prime Minister Miloš Vučević, want work and prosperity in Serbia in order to improve the standards of all Serbian citizens.

Brnabić told RTS that the damage done in the National Assembly yesterday will cost a lot, and that she will do her best to ensure that the opposition, led by Dragan Đilas, bears it.

“I understand that they are running away from the budget talks. Serbia has been the fastest growing European economy in the first nine months of this year. For the first time when we talk about the budget, we have an investment rating, double the average pensions than in their time. GDP in their time was 33 billion euros, and at the end of the year we will have more than 80 billion, while the goal is to have more than 100 billion euros by 2027, thanks to smart policies led by Aleksandar Vučić,” Brnabić said, according to Tanjug.

She added that the behavior of the opposition MPs is not a search for justice regarding the tragedy in Novi Sad, but that it is about taking institutions out of the hands of the citizens of Serbia and giving them to themselves.

“They sat in the ministerial positions without any shame. Their policy is – let’s use violence to find ourselves in the ministerial benches, to be prosecutors, judges. We will not allow it. This is the people’s house, the people elected us, I am proud to be a member of parliament, and then the President of the National Assembly,” said Brnabić.
