bugojnoplenumIn the theatre hall of the Cultural and Sports Center a the tenth Plenum was held last night of the citizens of Bugojno, where representatives of the group formed within the Plenum informed participants about the activities what were previously carried out in terms of meeting requests sent to representatives of municipal governments.

The fact that of the total of 26 requests, which accumulated from 10 February to 28 March, the Municipal Council considered only seven, is testament of how much the representatives of local government care about its citizens. The most important demands are still ‘on hold’.

A plan of employment and development at the municipal level for this year was not adopted, little has been done regarding social benefits, the deprofessionalization of the position of the Chairperson of the Municipal Council has not been considered and the reduction of salaries, as well as warm meals to employees of the municipal administration. There is no reform of public administration and a systematization of jobs, and a new management board of public companies and institutions whose owner is the municipality have not been selected.

The Plenum is requesting from the Mayor and the Council to make public statements about that manner and purpose of the expenditure of funds for all veterans’ organizations that are financed from the municipal budget and to make control of the expenditure of funds for all citizens’ associations, which is financed by the municipal budget.

None of the above demands were included in the daily agenda of the session, which was held on Thursday, which points out that the municipal authorities is increasingly showing that they do not care about their citizens, who are using democratic means, in a dignified and peaceful way and more than in any other city in B&H, in order to simply ask for an improvement in their socio-economic position because many have been brought to the edge of existence due to the negligence of those responsible at all levels of government, reports Fena Agency.

‘’It is funny and immoral what the councilors are doing while we protest’’, said a citizen.

Participants to the Plenum are acquainted with the announcement of filing criminal charges against protestors who are suspected to throwing metal coins during the protests, and thus inflicting minor injuries to the Mayor of Bugojno. Three members of the Plenum on Monday will try to agree to a meeting with the Mayor in order to speak about these charges, as well as other issues regarding the demands of citizens. It was said that the Plenum would stand for the protection of all participants at the protests against whom court proceedings would eventually start.

In the end it was agreed that the 11th Plenum would take place next Friday at 18:00 in KSC, and for protests to continue on Monday from 14:00 to 15:00 in front of the building of the municipality of Bugojno. It was also agreed to send an invite to the OSCE representatives to come to Bugojno again, with the aim to accelerate the demands of citizens.
