In the past 24 hours, 1,094 samples were processed in Sarajevo Canton (KS), and 282 people tested positive for coronavirus, according to the Crisis Staff of the Ministry of Health.

”In the past 48 hours, 2,103 samples were processed, of which 522 cases were positive for coronavirus. The samples arrived in the period from November 15 to 19,” said at the press conference a member of the Crisis Staff Kemal Beganovic.

According to him, the current number of hospitalized is 185, of which 78 are housed in the Podhrastovi isolation ward, and 107 in the General Hospital. There are four patients on the respirator.

”It is important to note that the trend continues.”

In relation to the number of newly infected, today, the number of recovered is significantly higher. In the past 24 hours, 477 people recovered – said Beganovic.

He stated that in the period from March 20 to November 16, 15,924 cases of coronavirus infection were confirmed in CS.

There were 697 cases in September, 4,402 in October, and 6,890 cases from November 1 to 16. Beganovic stated that in mid-October, one infected person infected almost two new people on average (1.96), while since November 16, a significant decrease in that number has been noticed, which is now stable and ranges between 0.81 and 0.89.

”It is important that this number is kept below one, which means that the number of newly infected in the Sarajevo Canton is declining, and the number of recovered is increasing,” said Beganovic, Vijesti.ba writes.
