Catholics Today Celebrate Epiphany, which is the feast of the revelation of Christ’s divinity, thus ending the Christmas season.
According to the events described in the gospel of Matthew, the three kings or Magi from the East, Gaspor, Melchior and Balthazar came to Jerusalem to worship the newborn Jesus. At the same time they gave him three symbolic gifts: frankincense, myrrh and gold.
During today’s church masses, water is blessed and will be sprinkled in the homes of the faithful. The message of today’s feast is that Jesus is the Savior of all people.
