With children’s joy and song, the Kids’ Fair was opened in Sarajevo, gathering more than 2,000 kids and parents from the entire B&H.
The Fair is a project which has been organized in cities across the former Yugoslavia for 10 years now, and the capital of B&H had the honour to host the most colourful festival in the region for the second time.
Students from Konjević Polje opened this year’s Fair with a song “Djeca su vojska najjača”. These kids are going to school in Nova Kasaba, instead in their own place of residence.
As the organizers pointed out, more than 2,000 kids will participate at this year’s Fair. The children will have the opportunity to, along with music and dancing, participate in various workshops and watch numerous plays.
“The aim is to provide the children with an opportunity for entertaining and gathering, as well as to provide them with information about public services. We want children to educate and orientate towards what is important from the earliest age, and that is sports, culture and education. Here we have children from the entire country, from Pale, Ilijaš, Vareš, Kakanj, and many other cities”, said the Director of the Fair Maja Kojundžić.
Besides numerous entertaining contents, at the Fair kids have an opportunity to learn something more about public institutions such as the police.
“As every year, we want to inform children and their parents about the work of the police and prove them that they can feel safe. This year we want to point to the importance of using child’s seats and putting safety seatbelts on in cars,” said Irfan Nefić, the spokesman of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Sarajevo Canton, which is one of the friends of the Fair.
