China plans to complete tests and production of the domestically produced “CR450” prototype of the Fuxing series high-speed trains, which can reach speeds of up to 450 kilometers per hour, this year.
According to the “South China Morning Post”, the State Railways of China has published the latest information on the stages of development of new generation trains.
The process of development and testing of the “CR450” prototype, whose maximum speed will be 450 kilometers per hour, should be completed this year.
It is planned that the train will be officially launched in 2025.
As stated, it is planned to establish a new infrastructure for a new generation train, by upgrading the technologies of automatic control, rudder and rails.
High-speed trains currently in use in China can reach a maximum speed of 350 kilometers per hour.
With the entry into traffic of the “CR450” model, it is expected that the duration of the trip by high-speed train on the Beijing-Shanghai route, which now takes more than four hours, will be reduced to 2.5 hours.
