contractRepresentatives of the Coal Mine Zenica and Polish-German corporation Becker Warkop signed a contract for delivery of equipment for a pit “Raspotocje”.

This corporation should deliver the equipment worth 19.7 million BAM in the next 12 months, and they are hoping that this period will be even shorter. After 30 years, this is the biggest investment in the Coal Mine Zenica. Besides more humane working conditions and with the new equipment, the mine will be able to raise the production process to a significant extent.

“Signing of this contract has multiple significance. However, I will emphasize three things. One is safety, the second is the continuity of production and the third thing is the increase of the production. Of course, our favorite is the first one, safety on work,” said director of the Coal Mine Zenica, Nisvet Topalovic.

President of the corporation Becker Warkop, Tomasz Budniok, said that talks about shortening of deadlines started after choosing the best bidder for the supply of equipment.

“Today, we promise that we will try to speed up the delivery of equipment and we will finish the job in 9 months. Our references are very good and we can say that we are working with mine Kakanj and that we ended up delivery of the equipment two months before the deadline,” said Budniok.

“We will definitely round up the story about this mine with the completion of the restructuring program next year in the technical, financial and economic terms. It should be a stable mine that will have maximum security and the necessary productivity, and that will ensure the viability and fulfill its obligations,” said Ikanovic.

According to expectations, purchase of new equipment will raise production results of this mine in Zenica from 20,000 to 50,000 tons of coal.
