The general assessment of the Coalition “Pod lupom” is that the elections in BiH were held in a democratic and fair atmosphere and in accordance with the Election Law in BiH and electoral regulations. There was a small number of irregularities and incidents, Director of the Coalition “Pod lupom” Dario Jovanović said in Sarajevo today.
When it comes to the technical implementation of the elections, according to reports of their observers in more than 95 percent of the cases the polls were opened and closed in time, adding that almost in 100 percent of cases members of the electoral committee were in their places.
“In four percent of the cases voters did not have valid identification documents,” he said.
He also said that the greatest number of people was refused to vote for these reasons in the Brčko District.
“The process of counting the ballots for the BiH Parliamentary Assembly went very positive,” Jovanović said, adding that the same process for cantonal assemblies also had no obstacles.
He emphasized that that he ballot counting process for the president and vice president of Republika Srpska also had no delays nor obstacles.
“Procedures of packaging electoral material were positive at 99 percent of polling stations,” he added.
Legal advisor of the Coalition “Pod lupom” Jelena Tanasković said that the observers of the coalition reported around 120 critical situations, and that the assessment found that in 40 cases no irregularities had occurred.
“The remaining 70 are classified into two categories, the lack of election materials or the opening of polling stations,” she stressed.
