COM EUFOR meets British Ambassador to BiH

EUFOR Commander Major General Maurizio Fronda hosted His Excellency Julian Reilly, British Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina in Camp Butmir on Tuesday.

This meeting provided the opportunity for both COM EUFOR Major General Fronda and H.E. Julian Reilly to have an open and constructive discussion regarding the role of EUFOR and its international partners in supporting the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina. In the course of this meeting, H.E. Julian Reilly outlined his previous experience working within the region, stating that he hoped to harness his experience gained as Deputy Head of Western Balkans and EU Enlargement Department to deepen the ties between the United Kingdom and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

H.E. Mr. Julian Reilly highlighted the importance of ongoing cooperation between both EUFOR and NATO in safeguarding peace within Bosnia and Herzegovina. Major General Fronda concurred, stating that EUFOR was fully committed along with NATO to supporting the authorities of BiH, and in particular the AF BiH through joint training and capacity building initiatives.

“It is imperative that EUFOR, along with NATO continue to work in close cooperation to support the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, ensuring a safe and secure environment within the country. EUFOR, along with our international partners remain wholeheartedly committed to work towards our common goal of peace and stability for Bosnia and Herzegovina” stated Major General Fronda.

At the conclusion of this productive meeting, Major General Fronda reiterated EUFOR’s willingness to maintain close cooperation with the British embassy in pursuit of common goals, emphasizing EUFOR’s strong commitment to remain visible, credible, and impartial.
