The Appellate Panel of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina confirmed the first-instance verdict in the “Respirators” case, which was conducted against the then FBiH Prime Minister Fadil Novalić, FUCZ director Fahrudin Solak and supplier Fikret Hodžić for illegal actions during the procurement of respirators.
This information was confirmed to Klix.ba from several sources in Bosnia and Herzegovina’s judiciary, however, it is not yet official, considering that the decision has not been sent to the lawyers and other parties in the court proceedings.
The first-instance verdict, which was confirmed by the Appellate Panel of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, sentenced Fadil Novalić to four years in prison, Fahrudin Solak to six years and the director of “Srebrna Malina” Fikret Hodžić to five years. In addition, according to the first-instance verdict, the Srebrena malina company must return almost 700,000 BAM and pay a fine of 200,000 BAM within 60 days from the final verdict if it is also found guilty.
The Prime Minister, the suspended director of the Federal Administration of Civil Protection and the director of Srebrena Malina were convicted of abuse of office, while Solak was also convicted of forging and destroying official documents.
The only person acquitted in this case is the then Minister of Finance Jelka Miličević, who was not found to have committed a criminal offense.
