The Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina annulled the verdict of the Supreme Court of the Republika Srpska, which denied the existence of discrimination in access to education for students of the Bosniak returnee community in Konjevic Polje, near Bratunac in the Republika Srpska.

The decision was made at the session held on June 23, and the appeal to the Constitutional Court of BiH was submitted by a group of parents of students from the Konjević Polje Regional School at the "Petar Kočić" Elementary School in Kravica.

"We welcome the decision of the BiH Constitutional Court, which we have been waiting for since 2014. We will continue our struggle until this decision is implemented in practice and until children receive adequate education, the right to a national group of subjects, including the right to call their language Bosnian, "Muhizin Omerovic, one of the parents who submitted to the Constitutional Court, told Radio Free Europe.

He says that he expects the decision to be implemented quickly, so that the children from Konjevic Polje can return to the school desks of the Konjevic Polje Regional School at the "Petar Kocic" Elementary School in Kravica in September.
