The Council of Ministers of BiH adopted the information of the Ministry of Security on the state of security in BiH in the year of 2016, which was at a satisfactory level, according to them.

“The total number of registered criminal offenses in BiH in the year of 2016 was 29,179, and it represents an increase of 6.33 % when compared to 2015 and by 15.92 % compared to 2014. This indicates that basic security in BiH is stabilized despite series of security challenges and risks,” as noted by the Council of Ministers of BiH.

They noted that the MIA RS achieved the overall coefficient of 77.8 % (in 2015 it was 74.8 %) and in the Federal Police Administration it was 60.80 %, which was at the same level as in 2015.

In this information was noted that there were no terrorist attacks conducted in BiH last year, in comparison to the year of 2015, when there were three attacks recorded.

When it comes to internal challenges, they noted the issue of security at the regional and global level, especially in the field of the fight against terrorism. Terrorist attacks can be expected everywhere, and high indoctrination of terrorists and their organization through social networks was recorded.

They also noted that the main problem in the first phase of the resolution of refugee crisis was the accommodation of refugees, and after the attacks that took place all over the Europe, the focus is on the security of the borders.

A total of 218 people were detected at the illegal border crossing in 2016, which represents an increase of 21.79 % compared to the previous year. A total of 2,243 foreigners who are not allowed to enter BiH were registered as well, which is by 7.77 % less than in 2015.

Moreover, the Council of Ministers of BiH decided to allocate 385,000 BAM from the budget of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations for the support of 21 fairs and other events in 2017.
