The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina has imposed prohibitive measures on Fikret Prevljak, suspected of crimes against civilians in the Ilidža settlements of Hrasnica, Butmir and Sokolović Kolonija, Detektor has been confirmed.

Prevljak has been imposed a travel ban, a ban on meeting with certain persons and mandatory periodic reporting to a state authority.

“The imposed prohibitive measures will last as long as there is a need for them or until a different decision of the Court. The justification for the duration of these measures will be reviewed every two months,” the Court of BiH states.

The State Prosecutor’s Office requested the imposition of prohibitive measures on Prevljak due to the risk of flight, after he was detained by the BiH Border Police at the Sarajevo Airport, at the order of the Prosecutor’s Office, where he was questioned.

Prosecutor Marijana Čolović, at the hearing discussing the determination of measures, stated that Prevljak is suspected of having, as commander of the Hrasnica Territorial Defense Headquarters, then as commander of the Fourth Motorized Brigade, later the 104th Motorized Brigade of the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina, knowingly and willingly organized the imprisonment and abuse of Serb civilians from the end of July 1992 to March 1995.

At the same hearing, the defense denied that there was a risk of the suspect fleeing.

“The suspect is under investigation for the criminal offense of ‘war crimes against the civilian population’, committed against dozens of victims of Serbian nationality in the Sarajevo neighborhoods of Hrasnica, Butmir and Sokolović Kolonija in the period from 1992 to 1995, including murders, illegal imprisonment, forced labor and other forms of inhuman treatment,” the Prosecutor’s Office said in a previous statement, the Balkan Investigative Reporting Network of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BIRNBiH) reported.
