HDZ BiH President Dragan Čović held a meeting today with Louis Crishock, Acting High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with whom he discussed the current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the work of institutions, and reform processes.
Preparations for the General Elections to be held on October 4, as well as the political and institutional context in which the electoral process takes place, was one of the topics of discussion. The interlocutors exchanged opinions on the importance of a stable and functional institutional framework and the responsible action of all political actors in the period leading up to the elections, HDZ BiH announced.
The importance of the continuation of the political dialogue was highlighted as a key prerequisite for the stability of institutions and their smooth operation, as well as the creation of preconditions for the implementation of reform processes.
Attention is also devoted to the European integration of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and further progress towards membership in the European Union. In this context, the need to speed up reform processes, with full respect for the constitutional order, was emphasized.
Čović stressed that the elections should represent the basis for a new political dynamic and open up space for responsible action by all levels of government. After the election process is completed, it is necessary to proceed without delay to form stable institutions and reach a political agreement on reforms that are of strategic importance for Bosnia and Herzegovina, the statement said.
