Croatia is also a co-sponsor of the Resolution on the Genocide in Srebrenica

Croatia is also a co-sponsor of the resolution on the genocide in Srebrenica, which was sent to the United Nations General Assembly for consideration yesterday, HRT announced.

Thus, this neighboring country is among several countries that have previously been co-sponsors of this resolution, which aims to make the commemoration of the anniversary of the genocide in Srebrenica of an official international character, as is the case with the Holocaust and genocide in Rwanda.

The proposers of the resolution are precisely Rwanda and Germany.

The session of the General Assembly at which this resolution will be discussed will not be before May 15, when the UN Security Council session is scheduled, at which there will be a regular discussion of the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

As the portal Klix.ba learns, the session of the General Assembly will not be dedicated exclusively to the aforementioned resolution, which aims to make the commemoration of the anniversary of the genocide in Srebrenica officially international in character, like the commemoration of the Holocaust and genocide in Rwanda.

In fact, the resolution will be considered as part of the UN General Assembly’s “Culture of Peace” session as a regular session of the General Assembly. After the Mission of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the UN officially sent the resolution to the President of the General Assembly Dennis Francis yesterday, this initiative will be considered after five working days from its submission.

With the May Day holiday and the upcoming weekend, that means the General Assembly leadership could do it next week. This fact, as well as the fact that the aforementioned session of the Security Council will be held on May 15, explain why the resolution will not be considered before May 15.
