In order to remain successful in the market in CEFTA countries after Croatia’s accession to the EU on 1 July, there is interest to invest in BiH from companies Gavrilović, Podravka, Dukat, and others.
“There are more companies in Croatia that are expressing an interest to open facilities in BiH and organize production here. In this way, they will continue to operate under favorable market conditions to CEFTA countries’’, confirmed SRNA agency in the BiH Ministry for Foreign Trade and Economic Relations.
A greater investment in BiH from Croatian food producers is expected due to the firm stance of the BiH delegation in the current negotiations of the so-called Additional Protocol with the EU.
“BiH is not ready for further liberalization of trade after 1 July and reducing tariffs to so-called zero, because that would significantly undermine the position of the local economy’’, says the BiH Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations.
Company “Gavrilović” from Croatia announced that it would transfer a part of its production to BiH because, due to price increases, it would not lose the market in CEFTA countries from which Croatia has to leave after it enters the EU.
“Gavrilović” will transfer a part of its production from Petrinje to Čitluk.
