The President of the Republic of Croatia, Zoran Milanović, said today that he and the Croatian Prime Minister must agree on how to help Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina “to return their basic rights, because political Sarajevo and its sponsors, the Office of the High Representative and the United States of America (USA), do not interested”.
At the ZeGeVege festival of sustainable living, Milanović commented on the two-day visit of the head of the Croatian government, Andrej Plenković, to Bosnia and Herzegovina, and stated that he “finally took a pill for courage” and, as soon as he spoke about the inequality of Croats, he received the same reaction as he did.
“Plenković has now been in Bosnia and Herzegovina for two days. He finally took a pill for courage and said something about the Sejdić-Finci judgments, about how Croats cannot elect their own member of the Presidency and their own member, which, of course, obstructs them from political Sarajevo and we all know that very well,” said Milanović.
He added that he has been talking about it as quietly as possible for six years.
“We have to agree on what to do for these people. Politically, Sarajevo and its sponsors, that is the Office of the High Representative and the American Embassy, are not interested in the Croats of Bosnia and Herzegovina, but in who is the head of the secret service and how he cooperates with the Americans in suppressing militant Islam. That is the only thing they are interested,” Milanović pointed out.
With the conclusion that Plenković, after identifying the problem, “can now be calm for five years”, Milanović claims that the attitude of the “team” from the SDA and “political Sarajevo” towards Plenković is the same as towards him.
“As soon as he said it, and he hid and was afraid for years, he got the same reaction as me, he continued and added to these people, unfortunately, it doesn’t go in a nice and polite way,” said Milanović and added:
“Dodik is unnecessarily playing with fire”
“If we don’t help the Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina to get their basic rights back, no one will.”
Milanović believes that the way in which Plenković and, as he called them, his Trabants do it, is wrong.
“I speak clearly, but I don’t have instruments, he fiddles, but he has instruments,” said Milanović.
On Wednesday and Thursday, Plenković was in Bosnia and Herzegovina, where he met with the leader of the Croatian National Assembly and the HDZ of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Speaker of the House of Peoples of the Parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dragan Čović. His visit was met with criticism from part of the BiH public, the media and parties with a Bosniak character, according to Hina.
Milanović also mentioned the president of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, and commented on the move to introduce teaching content that presents Ratko Mladić and Radovan Karadžić as war heroes into the curricula of elementary schools in that BiH entity.
“Whatever I try to fix, he screws up. He is the interlocutor for all Bosnian Croats in politics. Unfortunately, Dodik calculates too much and plays with fire. Completely unnecessary,” said Milanović and added:
“I tell him every time to calm down the ball. I call him, not very often, but… We hear each other, I tell him to relax a little”, Fena writes.
