Croatian Republican Party envisions the Territorial Reorganization of FBiH

In its pre-election campaign, the Croatian Republican Party (HRS) put forward a proposal for the administrative-territorial reorganization of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH).

On its official Facebook page, the HRS has published a map of, as they stated, the administrative-territorial reorganization of BiH, but the map shows that it is a reorganization of the FBiH only.

According to this proposal, the FBiH would consist of two cantons and the District of the FBiH. One canton would be called “Posavsko-Herceg-Bosanska (Posavina-Herceg-Bosnia) Canton” and it would include Canton 10, West Herzegovina Canton, Posavina Canton, parts of Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, Central Bosnia Canton, and Zenica-Doboj Canton.

The second canton, according to the HRS plan, is “Bosansko-Podrinjski-Krajiski (Bosnian-Podrinje-Krajiska)” and would consist of the Una-Sana Canton, Canton Sarajevo, Bosnian-Podrinje Canton, Tuzla Canton, Zenica-Doboj Canton without Zepce and Usora, and parts of the Central Bosnia Canton.

The special unit would be the “Districts of the FBiH”, and according to the map, these would be Mostar, Gornji Vakuf-Uskoplje, and Travnik.

The publication did not specify ways to bring about reorganization or more detailed information about the functioning of any of these cantons or districts. Also, it is clear that such a proposal would not be supported by any pro-Bosnian party.

Namely, the HRS is not the only one dealing with proposals for the territorial reorganization of BiH. HDZ leader Dragan Covic said that the Croatian National Assembly (HNS) will initiate steps for the territorial reorganization of BiH if there are no changes to the Election Law of BiH as he wishes.

It should be recalled that HRS has not been a member of the HNS since June of last year,  a non-governmental organization that gathers some of the parties with a Croatian sign in BiH, led by Dragan Covic, Klix.ba writes.
