Promoters of the book, PhD Zlatko Lagumdzija, PhD Meliha Handzic and PhD Tarik Zaimovic will talk about the academic importance, but also the practical application of the book not only in IT sector, but generally in the field of strategic management. One of the main conclusions that this book implies is that the IT security has to be the part of strategic planning, because it directly affects the competitiveness of banks.

“In the time of the development of the most sophisticated Information technologies and when budgets for this field are growing from year to year, the issue of the security of the banking sector may have never been more topical. With this book, I wanted to offer a new, different approach to the academic but also a business community, which, in the end, could have positive effect of the end users of banking services, but also on all those to whom the data security is one the high priorities“, emphasized author of the book, Dr. Nedim Makarevic.

According to his words, conclusions of this book, lead the investment in IT sector and growth of the competitiveness in a direct correlation, which is an important information for decision makers in the financial but also other sectors as well, and will be useful literature to the scientific institutions.

The study itself summarizes the currently available literature on this topic, and can be considered as a kind of a pioneer academic undertaking. “Although 377 experts employed in the IT sectors of German banks or similar activities were included in this study, it leads to the conclusion that issues of the IT security are the part of strategic management and today, no one can afford the luxury to ignore this dimension in everyday business“, concluded Dr. Makarevic, talking about some key elements of his book.
