A Decision on Destruction of Excess Weapons Adopted

weaponsThe Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina in session held yesterday in Sarajevo adopted a decision on destruction of excess weapons, ammunition and explosive ordnance of the Armed Forces of BiH.

The Presidency obliged the Ministry of Defense within prescribed procedures to destroy all amounts of defective ammunition which has been identified as such after the control and technical inspections at sites Bukova Greda (Orašje), Jahorinski potok (Pale), Baćevići (Mostar) and Duži (Trebinje).

The Presidency also reached a decision about donation – transfer of weapons of the Armed Forces of BiH to the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Correctional Institute Banja Luka.

The BiH Presidency adopted a decision on amendments to the Decision on participation of infantry units of the Armed Forces in the operation Resolute Support in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and the Decision on appointment of Major Josip Brajković as Head of part of contingent of the Armed Forces of BiH in peace support operation Resolute Support in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.

The BiH Presidency accepted the offer of the United Nations and UNDP to finance analysis – study on the capabilities of BiH to increase participation in peacekeeping operations.

The Presidency approved conclusion of a Memorandum of Understanding between the BiH Ministry of Security and the Federal Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Austria on the promotion of bilateral cooperation in the field of prevention of disasters caused by natural disasters or human activity and removal of their consequences.
