Deputy Head of the Delegation of the European Union to BiH, Dr. Renzo Daviddi, met with a group of 30 students yesterday from European Regional Master’s Degree in Democracy and Human Rights in South-East Europe (ERMA) program, and presented mandate, structure, priorities, aims of the EU in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Talking about conditions that BiH has to fulfil before submitting credible application for EU membership, Daviddi said: „Adoption of changes to the BiH Constitution to eliminate discrimination in elections, referring primarily to Sejdic and Finci ruling is urgent.” After the lecture, students engaged in a fruitful discussion.

The ERMA Programme was established by the joint efforts of several universities from the South East Europe and the European Union. Since 2000, it has been financed by the European Union from the European Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights – EIDHR (80% of the total amount) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Italy (20%). Until now, over 300 students, mostly from the region of South East Europe, European Union and beyond have graduated from this Programme.
