Director of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) for Europe and Central Asia Martin Schüepp stated in Sarajevo on Tuesday that two-thirds of cases have been resolved when it comes to missing persons in Bosnia-Herzegovina.

During the meeting with Bosnia-Herzegovina’s Presidency member Sefik Dzaferovic, Schüepp emphasized that institutional assistance from Bosnia- Herzegovina is needed to resolve the issue of finding missing persons faster.

For his part, Schüepp informed Dzaferovic on the first results of the ICRC’s five-year strategy to find missing persons in the former Yugoslavia, more than 7.000 of whom are from Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Two interlocutors also discussed the current migrant crisis in the region, as well as the return of Bosnian citizens staying in camps in Syria and their reintegration into society, as well as readiness of the ICRC to assist in this process.
