At yesterday’s special session of the Federal Government, director of the Public Health Institute of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH), Davor Pehar, who was appointed leader of the “Ad hoc” team that will procure vaccines for the FBiH, said that the team would first start negotiations with three manufacturers whose offices are in BiH, such as “Pfizer”, “Krajinalijek” for the vaccine “Sputnik V”, and “Sinopharm”.

Pehar points out that it is still too early to predict when vaccines could appear in the FBiH.

”We have not yet conducted interviews with potential suppliers. The outcome of these talks will condition the procurement of vaccines, and the so-called “intervention import” will be done, since the coronavirus vaccines have not passed the regular registration path through the regulatory agency, ” told  Pehar said.

He also referred to the offer that FBiH received for the purchase of Russian vaccines “Sputnik V”, and stressed that the letter received from the manufacturer noted contradictory things in terms of storage of vaccines, and the documentation submitted to the FBiH Public Health Institute was not enough in order to consider the offer.

He emphasized that six companies responded to the invitation to procure vaccines for the FBiH and that the “Ad hoc” team must be careful in procuring vaccines and negotiate directly with manufacturers or authorized wholesalers.
