The legally convicted president of Republika Srpska (RS), Milorad Dodik, yesterday hinted that the Bosnian and Herzegovinian (BiH) entity RS could be a topic at the next meeting between the United States (U.S.) and Russian presidents, Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin.
Dodik claims that the current situation in RS is known in Washington, Moscow, and Beijing.
“RS will never again have the opportunity to be the subject, even of peripheral mention, at such global forums as the one that will now be held between Putin and Trump,” Dodik said.
He stated that it is part of his job to go to Montenegro and meet with “some important Americans,” or for Zeljka Cvijanovic to “go to Spain when she needs to bury her father-in-law and hold a conversation lasting several hours with important people.”
“After this program, I have to fly to a certain destination to meet again with important people and to talk to them about it. RS has significantly engaged in approaching the new (U.S.) administration. And it’s progressing slowly. What they say is, BiH is somewhere, it doesn’t exist, nobody knows where it is or what it is. Now they know more about RS than about BiH. And that’s good,” claims the convicted president of the RS entity.
All of what Milorad Dodik is talking about is the result of large financial expenditures for lobbying and promises for various types of investments, that is, natural resources in BiH.
However, the only problem for Dodik is that natural resources (rivers, forests, mountains, lands…) are the property of the state of BiH, and state property is not subject to disposal.
Also, Dodik’s lobbyists are releasing false information, lies, and distorted facts into the public sphere.
Among the latest examples is the former governor of the U.S. state of Illinois, now a lobbyist for the Government of RS, Rod Blagojevich, who, in a bizarre way, tried to defend the president of RS, Milorad Dodik. He claimed that “Dodik was convicted because he celebrated a Christian saint,” which has absolutely nothing to do with the verdict.
