Dodik: Shameful support of Montenegro to the resolution on Srebrenica

Milorad Dodik, president of the Bosnia and Herzegovina entity of Republika Srpska (RS), said that Montenegro’s support for the announced resolution of the UN General Assembly declaring July 11 as the International Day of Remembrance of the Srebrenica Genocide in 1995 was a “shameful act”.

“As for Montenegro, of course we are not comfortable, but we will not forget,” Dodik told reporters in Banja Luka, adding that he did not expect Montenegro to “continue such a brutal policy towards Serbs” because it previously recognized Kosovo’s independence.

“At the time when this was happening in Srebrenica, Montenegro was very active in supporting the events that happened there, and now we see those who, in order to clear their conscience, are behaving like that,” Dodik added.

The member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Željka Cvijanović, assessed that the resolution on Srebrenica “was brought to the field of vote counting and thus insulted all the victims”.

“They worked covertly. Without consensus, they violated all possible procedures. They are also changing the voting mechanism in the General Assembly in order to have more votes. It is really an insult to all the victims,” she believes.
