I want to be among 100 best players of the world by the end of this year – said today at the press conference our best player Damir Džumhur who is currently at the 118th place on the ATP list.
Džumhur had his best placement this year, 105th place on the ATP list of professional tennis players. He performed very well at the Challenger tournaments and at the Grand Slam tournaments Australian Open and Roland Garros which brought him great success.
“This year I have achieved my goals, but I also have a new one and that is to get to the top 100 best players concurrence by the end of this year. I work hard and I am preparing myself. There is the tournament in Winston- Salem ahead of me and then after that, there is also US Open – said Džumhur.
I am very glad I won’t have to participate the qualifications for the US Open. Qualifications matches can be rather exhausting so I guess it will be easier for me at the tournament in USA. – said the young player.
After the US Open Džumhur will play with the Davis Cup team of B&H which will play against Lithuania for the placement in the A division and there is also a possibility for him to play at the Challenger Masters tournament where eight best tennis players will participate.
