While battling unprecedented wildfires in the Los Angeles area, California has been struck by another calamity. Namely, an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.7 on the Richter scale was recorded near San Francisco Bay.

The earthquake struck at 07:02 a.m. local time with an epicenter in the sea about 8 kilometers southwest of the Golden Gate Bridge and three kilometers west of the Great Freeway and at a depth of 8 kilometers.

The US Geological Survey (USGS) reported that more than 5,000 people reported feeling tremors in the area.

Here are some testimonials from the EMSC site.

“He woke me up, the bed was shaking pretty hard for a few seconds, and the windows were rattling.”; “It’s like a train passed you by.”
