Eldin Jakupovic was born on the 2nd of October 1984. He is Bosnian-Swiss professional football player, goalkeeper of Hull, and new member of the English Premier League. Jakupovic was born in Prijedor. His family escaped to Switzerland because of the war in BiH.
He started his professional career at Grasshoppers from Zurich, and year later, moved to FC Thun. After a success, Jakupovic became a member of FC Lokomotiv Moscow in March 2006. He moved to Aris in September 2011, and finally signed for Hull in 2012.
Jakupovic joined Hull City in March of 2012. He defended so impressively on one friendly match that manager Nick Barmby expressed a desire for an emergency signing of contract on an indefinite period. Jakupovic signed a contract with Hull City on 2 years. He slowly progressed in the Hall, whose players, because of the characteristic ocher-black jerseys, are called “Tigers”. He started as the third goalkeeper behind Allan McGregor and Steven Harper. He was waiting for his chance for a long time, and when he finally got it, he was brilliant against the famous Arsenal in the FA Cup in February this year. Sports fans in BiH were able to see his fantastic appearance and after the result 0:0, Hull got another match against the famous Arsenal.
Jakupovic has dual citizenship, both BiH and Switzerland. He played for BiH and Switzerland in U-21. Meanwhile he felt neglected, and refused to play for BiH on several occasions.
In October 2008, Jakupovic refused the national team of Switzerland, saying that he does not want to play for family reasons. Today he would probably accept the invitation of Bazdarevic. Although he is 32 years old, that is not problem for him, because, goalkeepers have a longer playing lifetime. The teammates of Eldin say that he is a real tiger.
