Embassy of the Republic of Poland in B&H and the Museum of Literature and Theatre Arts organized the evening of Polish literature in Sarajevo.
Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to B&H Andrzej Krawczyk said that they will try to present a part of Polish literature, and focus on Polish literature that has been translated into Bosnian, Croatian and Serbian language and thus is familiar to BH audience.
He briefly presented the history of Polish literature to participants, among other things, stating that six Polish received the Nobel Prize, four of which being Nobel Prize for Literature.
He thanked the Museum of Literature and Theatre Arts of B&H as a partner, and handed over the gift from the Polish Embassy in B&H, the Polish books translated into Bosnian, Croatian and Serbian.
Director of the Museum of Literature and Theatre Arts Sejla Sehabovic thanked the Embassy of Poland in B&H, primarily for this opportunity for conversation, but also for special gift that they have given to the museum.
“From now on, these books belong to the holdings of the museum library. They will remain as a legacy of the Embassy of Poland in this museum,” she said.
Translator, theater director bound to Poland for years, Tanja Miletic-Orucevic spoke about Polish literature as well.
