The exhibition “40 years since the Winter Olympic Games – Sarajevo ’84” was officially opened on Tuesday evening in the Olympic Museum, as part of the celebration of that important date for Bosnia and Herzegovina.

There was also a lecture by the Swiss graphic designer Markus Osterwalder, whose presentation of the book “Olympic Games – Design” represents the laying of the foundation stone for the opening of the Olympic Library in the Olympic Museum.

Senka Ibrišimbegović, director of the Public Institution City Museums Sarajevo, said that in addition to the permanent exhibition, citizens have the opportunity to see posters and photos of the Olympic Games in Sarajevo and experience them again.

“We displayed the memory of the Olympic heritage in the form of posters from the photographs of the candidacy, the construction of Olympic infrastructure facilities, performances, arenas and competitions. We received these photographs from citizens throughout the region,” she said.

The exhibition, she added, will be open until the end of February, and she announced open days from February 8 to 19, when the entrance will be free for all visitors.

Ambassador of Switzerland to BiH Daniel Hunn recalled Sarajevo 40 years ago and said that it was one of the greatest moments for the city.

“Those games were also important for Switzerland, because we won two golds and two silvers. I remember the Olympic Games well, I was 20 years old and in front of the television cheering for our athletes in Sarajevo,” he added.

He expressed his pride that the Embassy of Switzerland supports Sarajevo in celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Winter Olympic Games, Fena news agency reports.
