Photo exhibition “As if the time has stopped” is part of a scientific research project of documenting crimes against humanity and international law committed in Bosanska Krajina.

These photographs were created as a result of a number of exhumations in Bosanska Krajina. Authors of the exhibition are Dr. Sc. Mujo Begic and academic product designer Edis Vojic.

The aim of the exhibition is to raise public awareness about the suffering of the victims and dealing with the past.

“My father Ekrem lost his life as a victim of a war crime, from the capture on the bridge at Strbacki buk through the detention camp to the mass grave Tihotina. The need to preserve the memory of all innocent victims of the war in BiH, and the need to promote truth about war crimes, were the real initiators of this story about the exhibition “As if the time has stopped”. With the articulation of shock, I acquired emotional strength and managed to bring the document photography, which was made in the process of exhumation, without any tendency to enter the gallery space, right there in sphere of artistic expression. The exhibition is made in collaboration with Prof. Dr. Mujo Begic, from the Institute for Research of Crimes against Humanity and International Law, University of Sarajevo.”

Family tragedy never discouraged this young man. Today, Edis is proud owner of a university degree decorated with silver badge for outstanding results.

“I would advise young people, who faltered on their path due to various life circumstances, to analyze the way they are going, and realize if that is really what makes the full filled in life. Perseverance, dedication to work and the desire for success are something that got me to my goal.

Exhibition “As if the time has stopped” had the first opening in the Museum of USC, in Bihac, where it was opened for three weeks. The next exhibition is planned in the Historical Museum of BiH in Sarajevo, after which it is planned in cities in the United States (Denver, Colorado…).
