izlozbaIn recent weeks a group of students from Graphic Design at the Academy of Fine Arts Sarajevo followed and photographed the current protests, making individual photographic stories on the events that marked the culmination of the dissatisfaction of B&H citizens. The works of the students will be presented in Gallery ‘Public Room’ on Wednesday, 9 April.

Recognizing the importance of events in various cities in B&H, Professor Ivan Hrkaš sent his students to the streets with the mission to give their opinion on the protests through the medium of photography and convey emotions from the protests.

‘’The aim of the exercise was to maximally utilize the medium of photography in the context of non-verbal communication and to provide the advantage to the photograph that once spoke much more than words’’, said Hrkaš.

The Association ‘Public Room’ emphasized that they are happy to be able to present an exhibition of students and thus strengthen the voice of the people who are sending a very simple and clear message to their political authorities, and that is that they are looking for basic rights and dignity.

Students point out that through these photos they tell a story not only about the protests, but also about humanity, consciousness, human emotions and the position of the common man in today’s society.
