Exports of Meat and Milk to Croatia increased by 200 %?

Bosnia and Herzegovina realized exports in the amount of 5.351.121.000 BAM in the second quarter of 2017, and exports were increased by 13.91 % in comparison to the same period last year. In the second quarter of 2017, imports amounted to 8,771,985,000 BAM, which is by 13, 90 % more than in the same period last year.

This means that export-import coverage in the second quarter of 2017 amounted to 61 %, which is same in comparison to the second quarter of 2017. The total volume of foreign trade was increased by 13.88 % and its value was 14.123.107.000 BAM.

The foreign trade deficit in the second quarter of 2017 amounted to 3,420,864,000 BAM.

According to the data of the Foreign Trade Chamber of BiH, the growth of exports from BiH in relation to the same period last year was achieved with all the leading partners in foreign trade. The highest amount of exports was recorded with Serbia, Croatia, the Netherlands, Montenegro and Turkey, and the largest increase in imports was recorded with Croatia, Slovenia, and Hungary.

BiH achieved the best export-import coverage with Austria (100.14 %) and with Germany (93.26 %), of which exports amounted to 779 million BAM.

The most important foreign trade partner is the European Union with which we achieve 71.7 % of our exports and 67.7 % of our imports. The most important partner within the EU is still Croatia. In the second quarter of 2017, in comparison to the same period of 2016, total exports in Croatia were increased by 26.22 %, and imports were increased by 14.20 %.

Most of our exports to Croatia were electricity, aluminum, wood, seats, and fabrics, while we mostly imported oil, electricity, sugar, chocolate, and beer from Croatia.

The most important third countries for BiH are Turkey (499 million BAM) and the Russian Federation.
