The acting prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office of Sarajevo Canton has proposed to the Cantonal Court in Sarajevo the extension of custody of Armin Berberović, who is accused of killing Azra Spahić with a car last month, it was confirmed for BHRT.

The Prosecutor’s Office stated that the proposal to extend Berberović’s custody for the next two months was proposed due to the danger that the suspect’s release could cause public disturbance.

Berberović is charged with a serious crime against the safety of public transport.

On May 26, at 11:30 p.m., Berberović killed Azra Spahić with car in the Sarajevo neighborhood of Marijin Dvor, while two female pedestrians suffered serious injuries.

He was arrested the same night, and it was determined that he had alcohol in his body and that he was driving under a ban.

After that, the residents of Sarajevo organized protests at the scene of the accident.
