13231141_1772605479642795_2109719720_nSpouses Jasmina and Danijal Hrnjic from Donji Vakuf are successfully engaged in production of various items from wood with motifs of the city on Vrbas, jewelry and other items for 8 years, for which they became very famous.

“As a housewife and mother of three, I worked those common things in the home for years. Then I wanted to start doing something from which I can earn some money for my family,” recalled Jasmina Hrnjic.

First she started to crochet and knit various clothing and decorative items, which attracted great attention of residents of Donji Vakuf.

She was selling first through social networks, and from recently in the gift shop, which she opened in her town, together with her husband.

“Mostly for the gifts are requested Bosnian antiques that my husband, a disabled war veteran, makes from wood. Especially popular are clock towers, decorative clocks and boxes, which decorate the homes of many of our fellow citizens, as well as homes of many citizens in other areas of BiH,” said Jasmina Hrnjic.

She also added that many of these souvenirs end up in European countries, Austria, Germany, France, the USA and Australia.

“We revived the old tradition of making old traditional sehara (treasure chest), to which we are especially proud,” she noted.

They are regular visitors to the exhibitions in the cities of BiH, where they are able to show the unique items which they make with love.

She admits that the younger members of the family, the son Davud (21) and daughters Adna (13) and Nejra (8), are willing to help when needed as well.

“It takes a lot of effort and time to make all of this. Now, when I think of the days when we started this business, I’m very glad we did it,” said Jasmina.
