A forty-eight-year-old Lee Sun-Kyun, an actor from the movie Parasite, was found dead in his car in Seoul.

Police said in a statement to South Korean media that Lee’s manager first reported the actor missing and was later found dead in his car on Wednesday morning.

Shortly after his disappearance, the family found a note that appeared to be a farewell letter.

Lee was previously under investigation for allegations of using marijuana and other drugs. He claimed to be innocent.

In Parasite, Lee played Park Dong-ik, the father of the wealthy Park family.

The movie Parasite won four Oscars in 2020, including Best Picture.

It also won Best Cast at the Screen Actors Guild Awards.

He also starred in Dr. Brain, a sci-fi thriller, which was the first Korean-language series produced for Apple TV+.
