Highway Konjic MostarThe Public Company “Highways of the Federation of B&H” will promote the book “The first 100 kilometers”, which shares the details of the construction of a modern highway on Corridor 5C, which passes through B&H, on the 9th of June.

Corridor 5C is a transport road and rail corridor that connects Hungary, Croatia and B&H on the section Budapest – Osijek – Sarajevo – Ploče.

The longest part of the corridor, which is about 335 kilometers long, passes through B&H, from which 285 km passes through the Federation of B&H and the rest through the Republic of Srpska.

Corridor 5C is passing through B&H on following direction: Svilaj – Odžak – Modric – Doboj – Zenica – Kakanj – Visoko – Sarajevo – Konjic – Jablanica – Mostar – Čapljina to the south border with Croatia, precisely at Bijača border crossing.

So far, 93 kilometers of the corridor 5C that is passing through B&H was built: Zenica South – Tarčin and Medjugorje – Bijača. The construction of the section Svilaj- Odžak, which is 10,7 km long, is in progress at the moment. The completion of this section is planned for the end of 2015.

If they keep working this way, corridor 5C that is passing through the FB&H could be completed by 2020.

More than 5,000 workers and 90 domestic companies has been working on this project so far, and around 1.25 billion BAM was invested in it.

The main tasks holders were local experts and local companies, which were gathered in a consortium whose framework was consisted of BH companies: Euroasfalt, ŽGP, Ente, Hidrogradnja and Butmir.

The promotion of the book “The first 100 kilometers,” will take place in Sarajevo City Hall.
