Fierce Protests in Tuzla Continue & Protestors Have Entered Government Building

tuzla_haosAccording to latest information, a fierce protest is currently underway in Tuzla. Protestors have entered the building of the Tuzla Canton government and have damaged several floors of the building. Reporter from klix.ba assessed that there are close to 10.000 people on the streets. The police have retreated and are not responding to attacks.

Several smoke bombs have been thrown. Bottles and stones are being thrown, cannonball sounds are heard, and protestors are demolishing the protective barrier set up to secure the government building.

The police officers who were responsible for securing the government building in Tuzla have retreated and the protestors then entered the building. The police retreated to a nearby health clinic, announced Fena correspondents who were on the scene.

tuzlaSomewhat earlier, police fired tear gas after some protestors, of which the total was 6.000-7.000, threw firecrackers.

In this part of the city, traffic has been shut down, and citizens continue to arrive at the protests.

Protests are taking place throughout B&H today. In Sarajevo, more than a hundred citizens gathered in front of the building of the Sarajevo Canton government, which is surrounded by yellow police tape. Citizens have blocked traffic towards the city center, and are calling on police officers to lower their shields and show solidarity with them. Demonstrators attacked the building of the Sarajevo Canton building.

In Zenica, several thousand citizens went out to protest today in front of the Zenica Canton government building. Although the protests were announced as calm, violence started to escalate from the beginning. Reporter for klix.ba said that the protestors are armed with bottles, rocks and firecrackers, which they are using to throw at the building.

The situation is very tense, and citizens are throwing everything that they can get their hands on. Even though there are a large number of protestors, the police have not responded yet.
