First Phase of Investigation of Plane Crash on Kozara has been completed

The commission for conducting the investigation of the cause of the PA-28 plane crash, registration number YU-DCY, which took place on December 10, 2020 on Mount Kozara, has completed the first phase of the investigation, ie collecting facts about the accident.

According to the work plan, the commission appointed by the decision of the Minister of Communications and Transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina Vojin Mitrovic, collected all the facts about the circumstances of the accident in which two people died and the plane was completely destroyed by a collision and fire.

Let us remind you, members of the Special Antiterrorist Unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republika Srpska, found a missing sports plane and two bodies in the village of Subotići on Kozara. The plane disappeared the day before when it was returning from Velika Kladuša to Banja Luka, from whose airport it flew to Kladuša.

The pilot and co-pilot of the “Piper” plane, Irina Percilijak, and the citizen of Serbia, Igor Ivanović, were killed in the accident. At the time of the accident, oral vaccination of animals in the area of ​​Kozara was performed from the plane, ie cookies with the medicine were thrown.

The cause of the fall has not been determined yet, and the Ministry of Transport and Communications of BiH, Vojin Mitrović, has formed a commission in charge of further investigation, headed by the chief investigator Salko Begić.

The Commission continues to analyze the facts gathered at the expert level.

The focus in the analysis of facts will be on: the qualifications and training of pilots to perform the flight, the meteorological situation and conditions of the flight, communications, flight organization and activities of the search and rescue service.

The commission will regularly report on the results of the investigation through a statement, the commission said in a statement.
