In line with the conclusions of the March 7 meeting, attended by Minister of Security Fahrudin Radoncic, Director of the Foreign Affairs Service Slobodan Ujic, Prime Minister of Tuzla Canton Denial Tulumovic and Mayor of the City of Tuzla Jasmin Imamovic, an action was taken to move migrants from the urban parts of Tuzla.

The Foreign Affairs Service, in accordance with its competencies, with the assistance of the Ministry of the Interior of the Tuzla Canton, carried out the action of displacing 491 migrants staying in a makeshift tent settlement near the Tuzla bus and train station and were transferred to the former Blazuj barracks.

Inspectors of the Service for Foreigners’ Affairs in coordination with members of the Ministry of the Interior of Tuzla Canton showed an extremely high level of professionalism, and the action proceeds without incident, especially taking into account the protection of all human rights of migrants, especially when it comes to vulnerable categories.

With the assistance of the Ministry of Interior of the Sarajevo Canton, migrants will be housed in the former Blazuj barracks, where they will be provided with health care and other necessary conditions for their humane stay.

With the increased influx of migrants, the Foreign Service Department has registered more than 3,500 migrants since the beginning of the year, the service said.
