The Council of Ministers of BiH adopted the framework energy strategy of BiH for the period until the year of 2035.

According to the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH, Denis Zvizdic, the adoption of this framework strategy of the Council of Ministers completed the adoption of the package of four crucial strategies for the economic and infrastructural development of BiH.

“This Council of Ministers adopted a transport strategy, a strategy for agricultural and rural development, the environment strategy and now a framework energy strategy. With this, we stopped a negative trend and now we have access to IPA and other funds that are intended for the energy sector,” noted Zvizdic.

According to him, BiH lost hundreds of millions of EUR in investments during the past seven years due to the lack of this strategy.

Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH Mirko Sarovic noted that this strategy means investments in energy facilities whose value amounts to 9 billion BAM.

“The main goals of strategy are security in the supply with electricity, competitiveness and transition to renewable energy sources, “ said Minister Sarovic.

The Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH also said that 170 million EUR will become available for the continuation of the construction of Corridor 5C on three sections on the basis of the loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
