Free Visit to Sarajevo Cultural and Historical Attractions on Sunday

12746136_1729968560573154_1795783150_nTourist guide Danijela Mehic will organize free visit to cultural and historical monuments of Sarajevo for citizens and visitors on Sunday, on the occasion of the International Tourist Guide Day.

All interested can come in front of the tourist agency “Sarajevo Discovery” at 1:30 p.m., after which they will have the opportunity to visit the site of the assassination of Franz Ferdinand, Latin Bridge, the Careva mosque, House of spite, City Hall, visual attractions of the city such as the Yellow and White fortress, Jajce barracks, Bascarsija, Brusa- bezistan, Bey’s mosque, Madrasah, the Jewish Quarter, the Cathedral of Jesus’ Sacred Heart and the Old Orthodox Church.

“Job of the tourist guide is the ideal combination of business and pleasure. It is very interesting, dynamic, guides must know at least one foreign language, have to have very good communication skills, to be extremely resourceful and well educated, because this is a job that requires constant improvement according to the needs of our clients,” explained Mehic.

She emphasized that there are 26 licensed tourist guides in Canton Sarajevo and that all interested parties must pass the exam in the Ministry of Environment and Tourism, register in the municipality and take the tourist guide card.

Since the city of Sarajevo has a lot to offer to every visitor, Mehic says that they are thrilled with the way how people of Sarajevo are direct, opened, hospitable and nature, history, traditions and cuisine will leave you breathless.

Mehic will organize a tour for students of the tourism school on Monday in order for them to practically show the work of tour guide, for which students of this school are educating.
