racunariOn the premises of the gallery of the Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo, a unique collection of old computers will be opened. The exhibition will be held from 27 to 30 November 2013.

The exhibition is the fruit of love towards computers for collector of old models, Maglen Stipčević, who in this way wants to educate visitors about the history of the technology, as well as for entertainment purposes. In his ownership are computers of various global brands such as Apple, IMB, HP, Dell, as well as companies that do not exist any longer, such as Atari, Commodore and Sinclair. The set contains several copies produced in the factories of the former Yugoslavia, such as Galaksija, Orao and Sarajevo-based Iris.

In addition to more than 110 old computers, of which the majority are functional, will be shown and about 60 calculators that provide important insight into the development of this type of technology over time, and produced by HP, Texas Instruments, Sharp, Casion and Psion. Among the 20 computers that will be included at the exhibition, the public will see a copy from 1979.

The exhibition is a prelude to the opening of Sarajevo museum of old computers, where the audience, through a permanent setting at every moment can see the machines that preceded the current ones, and up to several thousand times faster computers.
