“El Prado in the Streets” is the name of the project that began in 2015, allowing the works of the Prado Museum to occupy public spaces on the streets of different cities around the world, and for the first time, the exhibition is coming to the Balkans, specifically to Mostar, where 30 masterpieces will be displayed on the streets.

As announced, the opening of the exhibition will take place today, Wednesday, July 24th, at 11 a.m. at Spanish Square.

The selected 30 masterpieces will offer a journey through the various schools that make up the artistic landscape of the Prado Museum’s permanent collection, providing insight into the history of Spain, Europe, and Western art through the great masters of Spanish painting, according to the Embassy of the Kingdom of Spain in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH).

The exhibition is organized by the Spanish Embassy in collaboration with UNESCO, the European Union (EU) Office in BiH, and the City of Mostar.

The exhibition will remain open until August 5th, as stated in the announcement from the City of Mostar.
