This year, Sarajevo will be the meeting place for dancers from all over the world at the 13th edition of the Sarajevo Dance Festival, which will be held from November 21 to 29.
The festival program will begin on November 21 and 22 with an international modern dance competition, while the central part of the festival will be held from November 27 to 29.
The festival is organized by the Sports and Dance Club of Astoria and the Federation of Sports and Dance Clubs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, under the auspices of the World Sports and Dance Federation (WDSF).
A special part of this year’s program consists of three world championships in sports dance, which are being held as part of the Sarajevo Dance Festival for the third year in a row.
The program also includes WDSF international competitions for dance couples and solo dancers, competitions in modern dances and international competitions of groups and formations – it was announced from the Sports and Dance Club of Astoria.
During the festival days, more than 3,000 participants from more than 50 countries are expected, along with several thousand visitors. The competition and exhibition program will bring together dancers of different ages and categories.
The main competition program will be preceded by the Sarajevo Dance Camp, a three-day educational camp that offers dancers the opportunity to train and improve with dance teachers from different countries.
In addition to the competition part, the dance show “Children of Sarajevo”, Zumba Master Class, as well as an exhibition on the occasion of 29 years of work of the Sports and Dance Club of Astoria are planned.
Through a combination of top sports dance, modern dance disciplines, education and programs intended for a wider audience, the Sarajevo Dance Festival continues to build international significance and position Sarajevo as a meeting place for dancers, trainers and dance lovers from Bosnia and Herzegovina, the region and the world – it is stated in the statement.
