At least 9,227 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks on Gaza since October 7. More than 1,400 people were killed in Israel.

Israel is bombing locations across the besieged Gaza Strip, the Palestinian news agency WAFA reports.

Earlier, Israeli forces struck a school, killing at least 20 people, according to the Gaza Health Ministry. Israeli forces also carry out attacks in the occupied West Bank. They entered the cities of Nablus, Jenin, Hebron and Bethlehem.

A US official briefed reporters on talks with Israel and said a “significant pause” in fighting was needed to free prisoners held in Gaza. CNN reported that the official told reporters that the US expects Israel to scale back its airstrikes soon and focus on ground operations.

Reactions to the deadly Israeli attack on an ambulance convoy continue, with witnesses describing the bloody scene that followed. UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres is “horrified” by the attack.

An Israeli plane targeted an electrical generator at Al-Wafa Hospital in Gaza City on Saturday.

Israeli warplanes hit a generator and solar panels at a hospital for the elderly and medical rehabilitation early Saturday morning, Anadolu correspondent reports.

The airstrike resulted in a fire breaking out in the hospital yard, which was eventually put out by civil defense teams after a few hours.

The Israeli airstrike also caused extensive damage to the hospital’s solar system, causing a power outage in the facility.

The Israeli military has expanded air and ground attacks on the Gaza Strip, which has been under relentless airstrikes since Hamas’s surprise offensive on October 7.

More than 10,700 people were killed in the conflict, including at least 9,227 Palestinians and more than 1,538 Israelis.

The United Nations chief aid official for Palestinian refugees in Gaza, Thomas White, assessed the water and food situation in the besieged enclave.

In a video briefing for diplomats, White said that the average resident of Gaza lives on two pieces of Arabic bread a day and needs water more and more, AP reports.

White said the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Middle East supports about 89 bakeries in Gaza, but “now people aren’t just asking for bread — they’re asking for water.”

White also said that, based on his extensive travel through Gaza in recent weeks, the enclave has become “a scene of death and destruction.” Al Arabiya reports.
